Coaches


Tony Fong
Tony Fong has several years of coaching experience and has been involved with the Asha marathon program since its inception. He has coached runners at the West Valley Track Club, one of the largest clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area with the most diverse runners in terms of running capabilities. Tony has competed in cross country at the high school and college levels. He has completed more than 50 marathons over the past 15 years. Tony has been running in the Boston marathon for several years and his personal best time in a marathon is 2 hours and 37 minutes.


Rajeev Char
Rajeev Char loves the land and the water. He swims, he bikes, he runs. Since 1991 he has participated in over 30 triathlons including 6 Ironman races and 8 half-Ironman races. Rajeev is currently training for the Vineman Ironman distance race to be held in August'09. Rajeev has done the Alcatraz swim 3 times, the 4km Fahal Island Swim in Muscat, Oman and various open water swims in Oman and the US. He has participated in several 100 mile bike rides and runs a few marathons every year. Rajeev also played hockey for his college and for Bombay Gymkhana in the Bombay Hockey League. Rajeev is a finance professional and works in San Francisco. You can read more about him in his blog.
